What we did: The meeting that was postponed for 18 months, the meeting that was “masked” with the restrictions of the worldwide pandemic, the meeting where we were supposed to have students with us but… But it finally happened! And during the 18 months, the education systems in the entire world had an unexpected blast, a hard one indeed! We did it, and now it was time to get together, hope for the best and work to make things right again. After all the hard months where each of us were worried for the other and waited for the end of the pandemic, after many online meetings, the first thing we did when we met again was to try to make up for the lost time. A lot happened during the pandemic in the field of education, distant teaching/learning made absenteeism a non-existing problem, or did it? Since schools finally reopened, we have been facing even bigger problems in terms of student motivation, attendance etc. So, in addition to the previously planned agenda of this meeting, we had to talk about the current and totally unprecedented realities and how they affected the attendance and early dropout issues. As most of the partners were not able to travel with students, we showed the videos of their dances as part of the meeting program. We also attended a workshop about bullying.

What we learnt: The most important learning of this meeting was that online meetings can never substitute the face to face meetings both in terms of face to face relationships and efficiency. When we are together, we can share better, interact better and learn better. We understood that bullying can be one of the reasons of absenteeism and even school dropout and decided this to be a point to work on for sustainable activities.
